A proposito de Il corpo tra mortalità e trasfigurazione di Sergio Cotta

Abstract: the contribution reflects on the split of the dialectical unity of the body, intuited and feared with foresight more than forty years ago by the essay The body between mortality and transfiguration by Sergio Cotta. A split that implies consequences on the main issues that affect today’s bioethics and which have inevitable consequences for political decisions. Among these consequences are the denial of corporeity, the objectification of the body and, more broadly, an incorrect conceptualization of human nature. The latter, in fact, in the theoretical comparison, is often presented through a reductive perspective, which does not take into account the extraordinary complexity of all its dimensions.
